“ walked in on a weekend and it was super busy but still got a seat. they have priz fix and a la carts but i thought the pric fix was a bad deal bc the dessert was way too sweet and i wouldn't have actually gotten it if not for the set menu. the salmon was soo good i wouldn't go back just got that. the ambiance was nice but the chairs a bit too hard. i wouldn't try to get a resy next time for a better seat father from the entrance ”

“ Visited here again after a disappointing solo visit (which Bar Boulud's management handled really well, politely reaching out to ask for feedback which I really appreciated). I had a show with a girlfriend and this was the place she wanted to eat at beforehand so decided to give it another try. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel welcome and shown quickly to our seats. We were given a glass of champagne to apologise for my bad experience before (which was a lovely touch). My friend has some dietary issues at the moment and really wanted something slightly plainer than they had on the menu. She asked if that would be possible/would the kitchen mind and our waiter (whose name I forget, I'm so sorry but he was great) said it would be fine. She wanted salmon, pomme purée and green beans and he said that would be no problem and they are all items they have on the menu anyway. A few minutes after we put in our order a lady came up to our table to advise that usually they would be charging for the full price of the salmon dish on the menu (which came with quite a lot of items and was not plain salmon) and then a surcharge of $12, but that they would waive the surcharge this one time (in quite a brisk tone). This made my friend feel a little bit uncomfortable (she was already feeling sensitive about asking for something off menu and this just made her feel worse). If she had been told it would be an issue when she put in her order she would have made an effort to order something from the menu, albeit not salmon (which is what she wanted). Our food when it arrived was great and the rest of the service was attentive, especially given that the restaurant was so busy. Just the handling around dietary issues could have been a little better (and did make us feel a little uncomfortable). All in all I would give Bar Boulud 3.5*. ”

“ Great service and vibes all around. Oysters and the hamachi were pretty standard, nothing special but always a classic. Really enjoyed the girella - super flavorful with the perfect amount of crunch. Had the grapefruit givre for dessert which was a total surprise when it was served because of the amazing presentation. I would say the givre is perfect as a wow factor but tastes a bit too sweet because of the candied top. Would be better without so much of it. Overall really great for the price of $70 for the three-course prix frixe. ”

“ I had early reservations for dinner since I had plans later that evening. They open at 430 and that's when the reservation was made. We were seated immediately. The inside is beautiful and welcoming. It looks like most people do their 3 course meal where you get to select an appetizer entree and dessert. I ordered the Hamachi, Ora King Salmon, and this variety dessert. The hamachi was good but the citrus sauce made the dish. The Salmon was cooked very well and came with brussel sprouts with bacon and celery root puree. The sprouts were good but the bacon could have been cooked more and made crispy to give texture to the dish. Lastly the dessert was a nice sweet finish. We noted on our reservation this was an anniversary and they gave us a slice of cake for the occasion which was a nice touch. The cake was dry but the thought was very nice. The staff and service was fantastic and the som on site was helpful. I give this 4 stars as overall the food and service was good but I think a bit overpriced. ”

“ I've been to Bar Boulud a few times. This restaurant is a relaxed and cozy Parisian style dining spot. I got to experience the indoor and outdoor dining during restaurant week. I had an early reservation so the restaurant was quite empty but started getting busy when I left. The staff were inviting, service was good until it got busy, I had to flag down a waiter a few times. The food also came out immediately. The best part was definitely the dessert. You can also enjoy a three-course prix fixe option from the entire menu, featuring their favorite classic French bistro favorites for $70 when restaurant week ends, definitely worth visiting. ”

“ I went for an early lunch during the week. It is festive and I ate at the outdoor indoor venue. The menu has a broad selection and wine list. I ordered the soupe du jour which is cauliflower and sunchoke.. I had a salad w squash which has small pieces of cheese and walnuts. For dessert, the basque almond cake which is great, but not large. Sweet, but not too sweet. I did not have alcohol, but hot mint tea. I have been here before and it's always good. I'll be happy to return when I'm near the UWS. “ This is a great French spot close to Lincoln center! The vibes are very chic for dinner or brunch. My iced latte was not the best but it did the job. Our favorite was the soups! We sat outside which had heaters but was also so cold because they kept leaving the door open, highly recommend sitting inside ”
